The benefits of owning laptop computer are large and numerous. They all stem from the ability to have the power of a computer, the knowledge of the internet, and you music, photos, and movies with you where ever you choose to go. With each of those three reasons or a combination of those reasons you will never regret the purchase of your very own laptop.
Now with all good news there is of course some bad, but its not nearly as bad as the good is good so it can be lived with, and is all the time. In fact most people don't even see the downside of laptops during the most common of everyday uses. The downsides are simply that you can't fit as much or as powerful of components into a laptop as you can in a desktop, there is the space and you just can't have it and have a battery that lasts an appreciable amount of time. Therefore we suffer the bad to enjoy the good.
With a laptop you can take your work with you where ever you go. May you have a desk where you usually work, but need to check something out on the manufacturing floor, well you can take your laptop with you and record everything digitally as it happens. Maybe you were writing a paper at the library, but needed to go help a roommate, on the bus ride home you can continue writing and be listening to calming sounds of the ocean or rain in the forest and not miss the opportunity to be productive. Now of course in the real world on the bus ride home you'd probably be watching that video your rented from Amazon instead of writing, but that's one of the joys of a laptop.
Another awesome benefit of a laptop, one that I"m enjoying right now is that you don't have to be stuck at a desk to use the computer. I'm currently writing this article with my feet propped up and wearing a snuggy on the couch. Laptops are great for this reason alone.
There are tons more benefits from laptops like being able to take your laptop home to the parents and show them all of your home videos and pictures of the kids without having to worry about the weak DSL signal your parents are stuck with. You can also watch YouTube while folding the clothes in the bedroom, or enjoy the summer sun in the park while keeping an eye on the stocks during a quarterly earnings conference call (with a mobile broadband of course). So don't fret it a minute longer, you will never regret the transition to a laptop because you can do everything you can do on a desktop, but you won't be tied down with all those cords to just one physical location.
